Lmaoo this is not sand and if you do it with water the root can die and this is not what you want, also on trees like that they can be repotted every 5/10 years and 10 year is a lot so the soil is not 100 year old, and imagine if it is the case all the nutrients will pas through the pot and the tree will die, in fact this is why we repot our trees
I've got a older prebonsai juniper in a 4 or 5 gallon pot. It's spring here in North alabama in the United States. Can I take about 25 percent of the rootball away to shorten the pot now?
I think that it is fine if it is the present time. Be careful when cutting the thick roots of juniper. Please give as much leaf water as possible after replanting.

私も最近黒松の盆栽を購入しまして、色々調べてるところです。植え替えの際は根に付いてる土はほとんど落とすのでしょうか？あと最後に土じゃないようでしたけどあれはなんでしょうか。？🙇♂️
この黒松は以前の植え替えがきちんとされていませんでしたので、ある程度といった具合で土を取り除いています。
これは先生の判断です。この黒松は水で根洗いをしていないので完全には土は取り除いていません。
ただ、しっかりと取り除くときもあります。
これはある程度、数をこなす必要があるかと。
私は先生のところでボランティアとして植え替えの手伝いをしていますのである程度の判断はつきます。
慣れないうちはやめたほうが良いと思います。
あと、土はクレイキングという商品を使っています。

私は最近(10月)黒松の種を取りました。この時期で植え付けたら今年も絶対咲いてないだと思います。
どうすれば良いですか。家の中て扱って3月を植え付けたり、ボックスの中に外で置き場なし出して3月を植え付けたり、外で植え付けて無視に自然みたい育ったり、何が方が良いですか？

Just curious, why not hose the dirt out of the roots? seems it may do less damage.
This is because water alone cannot remove soil that has passed 10 years.
